PR/Communications Internship

On a mission to change education: In over 200 schools across the country, Innocent Classroom trained educators liberate children of color from the weight of negative stereotypes and low expectations. Building authentic and individual relationships with their students, empowered educators connect with each child’s driving force – their good – and channel that insight into learning and growth. 
Job Description: PR/Communications’ purpose is to engage the public on the activities, mission, and accomplishments of the Innocent Classroom program. This role also incorporates Community Development – helping to support and sustain practice among certified Innocent Classroom educators. 
Interns will gain experience in:
·   Social media management
·   Media relations
·   Development and distribution of engaging content (print, audio, digital)
·   Creation of Community Development program structures
·   Outreach to new Innocent Classroom program participants
·   Research and administrative support 
This is an on-location internship. Intern will work closely with Director of Innocent Community Development and alongside other Innocent Classroom employees in our Minneapolis office. 
This is a temporary non-employee position with opportunities for continued work.
Hours: 10-20 hours / week. 3-4 month commitment. Hours are flexible.
